
We’re well past the “don’t be evil” Google of the past and into the “maneuver around the law and common decency in an effort to collect the most possible data on our users” era of the company. The one thing I don’t care for about the article is that it’s very Google-centric. It’s a quick read, and, even though I’m searching all day every day, I picked up a few new tips. It occurred to me when I found an article by Marko Denic on how to use Google’s search syntax. Here’s a skill that I use every day but hadn’t even considered talking about: searching. I pride myself on teaching the developer skills that not many people focus on – dealing with rejection, understanding business, finding work… those kinds of things.
